Only a few months after its foundation, 16 companies join the EuroCloud Native initiative.

The EuroCloud Native (ECN) launches its online presence, where companies can find out about its goals and about the participating providers. The initiative, founded in September 2020 by EuroCloud Deutschland_eco e. V., the association of the cloud computing industry in Germany and a subsidiary of the Internet industry association eco, is aimed at providers of public cloud-based offerings, which are usually young companies or start-ups. The aim is to make their interests visible and to promote dialog with hyperscalers. In addition to a specialist forum, ECN also sees itself as a point of contact for the media.

However, the focus is not only on providers of public cloud-based services, but also on the platform operators themselves. For instance, Amazon Web Services Germany, Claranet, Google Germany, gridscale, Microsoft Germany and SysEleven have joined the initiative as alliance partners.

Cloud practice with local partners

In addition to advocacy, ECN also offers consulting, workshops and events, and provides information about the European cloud project GAIA-X. For this, eco is specifying the GAIA-X Federation Services together with partners. Together with the consulting firm ISG, ECN compiles a provider ranking for the German cloud-native market.

Companies interested in the EuroCloud-Native initiative can find more information on the website. To become a member, interested parties join the eco association. This includes membership of EuroCloud and thus ECN.
