gridscale GmbH is certified according to ISAE 3402
Cologne, 25 July 2023 – gridscale, cloud technology provider from Cologne, is now certified in accordance with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3402 SOC 1 Type I audit standard. The certification confirms that all processes managed by gridscale as a cloud provider that may be relevant to a customer’s financial reporting have a functioning internal control system and appropriate risk management. Thanks to the provision of official proof, customers can avoid time-consuming individual audits and mandatory on-site inspections of their IT service provider as part of their annual financial statement work.
The official certification according to ISAE 3402 SOC 1 Type I was preceded by the preparation of a control set with 44 control points, which includes a comprehensive report by an independent auditor on all processes at gridscale. This report confirms, for example, that IT service management, service agreements, supplier relationships and many other business processes were safeguarded by appropriate control mechanisms at the time of the audit and met the prescribed quality standards. Compliance with the internationally recognized, stringent regulations provides gridscale customers with the highest level of confidence in the company’s cloud services.

ISAE certification is an internationally recognized standard and includes IDW PS 951 of the Institute of Public Auditors in Germany, which is applicable to German auditors. The paragraph SOC stands for “Service Organization Controls,” whose criteria are defined by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Type 1 refers to the description of the service organization system and the suitability of the design of controls as of a particular date.
