gridscale joins the Open Source Business Alliance (OSBA)
Cologne, Feb 07, 2018 - The cloud infrastructure provider gridscale actively promotes open source technologies in Germany and joins the Open Source Business Alliance (OSBA)
The Cologne infrastructure- and platform-as-a-service provider (IaaS and PaaS), gridscale, is now a member of the OSBA. The OSBA is Germany's largest network of companies and organizations that develop, build or apply open source software and are politically committed to the equality of open source software compared to closed source software.
With the membership, gridscale is now also actively involved in the information exchange on technological developments and the strengthening of open source software. "In addition to being involved in open source projects with our own engineers, we see another way to support open source software and to underline our clear commitment to free software in the membership ," said Henrik Hasenkamp, CEO of gridscale.
"We are pleased to welcome gridscale as a leading German cloud provider focusing on IaaS and PaaS in the OSBA circle and look forward to working with them. gridscale's membership once again illustrates the importance of open source as a foundation for technologically innovative and future-oriented business models," said Felix Kronlage, CEO of the OSB Alliance. Hasenkamp adds: "At gridscale, we try to rely on open source software wherever possible. However, using open source is not so simple. It takes huge collaboration efforts, by hundreds of thousands of engineers across the globe to create software that meets the highest standards. These efforts build the foundation of companies like ours. "
