gridscale now certified with ‘Trusted Cloud’ Label by German Ministry of Economics

from 10.01.2020

Cologne, January 10, 2020 – gridscale GmbH, the Cologne-based provider of innovative IaaS and PaaS solutions is now certified with the ‘Trusted Cloud’ label.

The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) has created the label together with a network comprising representatives and experts of independent organizations, businesses and research institutes in order to provide guidance to those looking for professional and trustworthy cloud services in the German market.

Secure cloud services made in Germany

"I am especially proud of this award by the BMWi", says Henrik Hasenkamp, CEO of gridscale. “We ourselves expect the utmost of the gridscale cloud platform in terms of quality and performance. It is great to see that our efforts and the value of our product and services is recognized.”

With its public cloud solutions, gridscale offers business customers particularly secure, easy-to-use and highly scalable solutions, so they do not need to spend time and money in setting up and operating their own on-site IT infrastructure. Many companies, agencies or managed service providers already work with the IaaS and PaaS resources of the gridscale Public Cloud when they map out and bring to life digital projects.

Thorough testing and auditing processes

The certification with the ‘Trusted Cloud’ label was preceded by an extensive auditing process and quality checks – the security and legal compliance of the offered cloud solutions was thoroughly tested. Data centers located in Germany, strict compliance with local data protection regulations and user contracts in accordance with German law were just as important criteria as the design of the service level agreements and all technical as well as organizational measures in the day-to-day operations.

"Particularly against the backdrop of the ongoing debates about IT security and data protection, customers of German cloud providers such as gridscale, increasingly value high reliability, flexibility, and customer service at eye level," says Thomas Niessen, Managing Director of Trusted Cloud e.V.. "The certification of the platform as well as the participation in the GAIA-X initiative of the BMWi, demonstrates how deeply committed gridscale is to the topic of security and what a successful German public cloud alternative can look like compared to global hyperscalers".
