ISG market analysis: gridscale’s brokerage platform is a pioneer in the German multi-cloud market
Cologne, 27th April 2023 – The international IT analyst firm, ISG, has released a new whitepaper titled “Turning the tide in hybrid multi-cloud adoption”, which examines the necessity for multi-cloud management solutions and evaluates local brokerage concepts. gridscale, a cloud technology provider based in Cologne, Germany, has successfully established itself in Germany with its enterprise cloud and its partner ecosystem of European cloud providers with an innovative and, according to ISG, unique offering.
In a white paper published in March of this year, ISG Research identifies both the top drivers of multi-cloud adoption in enterprises and the key components of a correspondingly aligned management platform.
“The cloud market is characterized by rapid growth, combined with an ever-increasing resource bottleneck on both the infrastructure and staff side. Previous solution approaches will not help here,” explains ISG Lead Analyst and study author Ulrich Meister. “Cloud service brokerage systems are the right approach to address the complexity of holistic cloud adoption and show enterprises the great potential of cloud computing.”
Growing European ecosystem of diverse cloud providers
gridscale, he said, is the only German solution of its kind to offer a unified and easy-to-use technology that enables both cloud users and providers to provision, manage and use different cloud services and XaaS services within the ecosystem with particular ease. Currently, the partner network comprises nearly two dozen providers who offer their respective data center capacities and software portfolio based on gridscale technology as IaaS and SaaS resources, both for their own customers and, additionally, within the gridscale ecosystem for customers of other gridscale partners.
“The gridscale approach can solve the Gordian knot of resource bottlenecks through a completely new partnership approach,” adds Ulrich Meister. “The currently unique brokerage offering provides users with a broad, resilient service portfolio and helps providers to avoid additional investments as well as to tap the market much faster. So far, we don’t see any comparable approaches on the German market.”
More speed in cloud transformation
The brokerage option is part of the gridscale enterprise cloud solution. The enterprise cloud offers data center operators and service providers a turnkey plug-and-play environment with which any hardware infrastructures can be cloudified and corresponding cloud services can be set up, managed and, for example, offered as public cloud services to their own customers and in the ecosystem in a very short time. The ongoing remote operation of the enterprise cloud technology as well as the technical customer support remain with gridscale.
This allows gridscale partners to focus on marketing and customer acquisition, without the need for prior expertise in administration or system management. Additionally, the white label option ensures seamless integration of the cloud offering into the company’s service portfolio and corporate design.
“We are very pleased that ISG recognizes and highlights our enterprise cloud technology and brokerage approach. For us, developing our solution into a European cloud ecosystem was a logical step to meet the needs of the multi-cloud market and unlock the full potential of cloud computing for medium-sized and small companies,” says gridscale CEO Henrik Hasenkamp. “With this approach, we can accelerate the provision and adaptation of sovereign cloud services in Germany and create a win-win situation for everyone involved.”
